Restore Your Vital Records from Uzbekistan — Without Visiting the Country

Fast, Official, and Remote Process

Over the past 20 years, I’ve received countless requests to help restore lost documents — most commonly, birth, marriage, death certificates, or name change documents. The good news: you don’t need to travel to Uzbekistan to get them back.

Honestly, there’s no point in flying back. We live in the 21st century — everything can and should be done online. I strongly recommend handling this remotely, so you don’t end up doing it remotely after an expensive and stressful trip.

At first glance, the service might seem expensive — but compare it to the cost of flights, time off work, and multiple trips to fix errors. In reality, it’s cheaper and much more convenient.
Uzbek law fully allows this process to be done remotely — and I know exactly how.

What kind of documents can be restored?

There are two types of loss:

  • Physical loss – fire, theft, water damage, misplacement
  • Technical invalidity – old USSR documents that are no longer legally recognized for international use

Over the past 35 years, Uzbekistan has changed the format of its civil records four times. The latest format (since 2005) is eligible for apostille and international use.

How to Get a Duplicate Record While Living Abroad

Uzbekistan is a member of the CIS and the Minsk and Chisinau Conventions on Legal Assistance, which means:

If you live in a CIS country, you can send me a notarized power of attorney in Russian (or with translation) — I’ll handle everything for you in Uzbekistan.

The main clause in the POA must be:
“The right to request a duplicate or copy of a civil registry certificate” (e.g. birth, marriage, divorce, death, name change, etc.)

Types of Documents You Can Restore

  • Birth certificate
  • Marriage certificate
  • Divorce certificate
  • Death certificate
  • Name change certificate
  • Adoption certificate
  • Certificate of no marriage
  • Certificate confirming marriage
  • Certificate confirming divorce

What is an Apostille?

An apostille is an official stamp that certifies the authenticity of your document for international use. It guarantees that your document is legally recognized abroad.

Timelines & Delivery

Processing time: 3 to 10 business days from the moment we receive your POA in Tashkent
Delivery time: 3 to 16 days depending on your country

Examples:
DHL: ~$170, 3–5 days to Europe
Uzbek express mail: ~$50, around 10 days
Other fast and flexible options available — we’ll discuss them based on your location.

Total turnaround: up to 20 days.
But in simple cases (like a standard birth certificate), we can sometimes complete everything in 1 day.

If you live in major cities like Berlin, Warsaw, Prague, Istanbul, or Paris, your total time — from sending the POA to receiving your documents — could be as little as 4 days.
